October 3, 2025: Celebrated annually on the first Friday in October, with events continuing throughout the month and beyond, MFG Day—Manufacturing Day—coordinated by the Manufacturing Institute, is a national grassroots movement that demonstrates the reality and future of modern manufacturing careers. Thousands of companies and educational institutions nationwide are invited to open their doors to students, parents, educators and community leaders.
With MFG Day, The Manufacturing Institute—the workforce development and education affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers—empowers manufacturers to come together and address their collective challenges and build excitement about manufacturing careers to help their communities and future generations thrive.
MFG Day 2025 Events
This year, there will be 483 events across the country. Join thousands of manufacturers across the U.S. as they showcase the realities of modern manufacturing and inspire the next generation of creators.
Manufacturing Day 2025 will be celebrated nationally on October 3, but every day is MFG Day. Make your event date and time work for you AND your target audience! Check out more 2025 reliability and maintenance events.
Requirements:
Must consist of a tour of a manufacturing facility, office, innovation center or other site; other creative student-invite type of event at a manufacturing or manufacturing-supporting site (e.g., design office, software company); school event about manufacturing; manufacturing-related jobs fair; manufacturing-related career day event; or manufacturing product expo or similar event highlighting the realities and diverse careers in modern manufacturing
Must be open to students, parents and/or educatorsÂ
The Manufacturing Institute has developed The Quest for the Crystal of Innovation (Innovators Quest), a gamified experience for grades 4-9. This turnkey solution allows manufacturers to engage students in a fun, challenging and age-appropriate way, either in classrooms or at community events like summer camps, expos, and MFG Day.
The Innovators Quest helps students discover their strengths while encountering tasks that incorporate core manufacturing skills. The activities promote teamwork, communication, and problem-solving while introducing students to key concepts like additive manufacturing, aerospace engineering, electromechanical components, robotics, and quality control.
These webinars provide valuable information and insights to help manufacturers and partner organizations plan and prepare for MFG Day 2025. Recordings will be available here within 3 business days following the webinar date.
Have questions about planning and preparing for your MFG Day event or specific ideas that you would like to discuss individually? Schedule a time to meet directly with Jen White, Director of Student Engagement at the MI, during MFG Day Office Hours.
Since 2016, the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) has held "Trench Safety Month" focusing on safety for trench and excavation work. OSHA is currently putting the spotlight on Trench Safety Stand Down (TSSD) Week to promote this initiative. The Trenching and Excavation Safety Taskforce (TEST) is also supporting. With the recent increase in utility projects, the goal is to promote safety training across the utility construction industry. This newsletter covers TSSD week and provides trench drain maintenance tips for after the trenching is done.

After nearly 2 months of investigations and a root cause analysis, TC Energy Corp revealed the cause of the oil spill was likely a combination of a welding flaw and bending stress fatigue which resulted in a crack forming and eventually lead to the rupture. The cause of the bending stress is still unclear and remains a focal point of the root cause failure analysis a third-party is conducting. Â

Die cutters play a crucial role in various industries, enabling precise and efficient cutting of materials ranging from paper and cardboard to fabrics and plastics. To ensure optimal performance and longevity of these machines, implementing a proactive maintenance strategy is essential. Preventive maintenance not only safeguards the equipment but also contributes to improved productivity and cost-effectiveness in the long run. Condition monitoring of die cutters and tooling will improve productivity, standard part quality and reduce costs for the user.
